Sennheiser MobileConnect is an assistive and personal listening solution that streams live audio content via WiFi to any iOS or Android phone in a room.
MobileConnect consists of three main components: The MobileConnect Station is the “audio-to-network bridge” that picks up the audio signal in the room and streams it to any preferred streaming network. Using the pre-existing WiFi access points, the signal is provided to up to 100 smartphones per Station, using the MobileConnect App as a receiver. When using multiple Stations, the MobileConnect Manager can be used as the single point of administration for all MobileConnect Stations. If not needed, MobileConnect can also be operated in the so-called Standalone Mode, where single MobileConnect Stations can be run and administered using a local web interface.
Listen your way
Using your own smartphone as a receiver offers many advantages – not only in times of Covid. It allows you to connect your favourite listening device, for example, an induction neck loop or your over-ear headphones, so you just need to start listening without asking for rental equipment in advance. But most importantly, it allows you to sit anywhere in the room, not just in the front row where the induction loop is installed.
Future-proof installation
There are two ways to set up MobileConnect: The lightweight Standalone Mode and the fully integrated and scalable Manager Mode. This provides the flexibility you need to easily integrate any number of MobileConnect Stations into your existing audio setup and network environment. And as you can switch between both modes at any time the system can effortlessly grow and change to meet your needs in the future.
Easy management
Especially when operating multiple MobileConnect Stations, the MobileConnect Manager helps you to keep an overview of your system remotely. MobileConnect also helps you to focus on what’s important by eliminating tedious tasks such as cleaning and providing loaner equipment or recharging batteries. Even providing new QR codes for channel access can easily be integrated into your meeting calendar using the MobileConnect API.
As the hardware component of MobileConnect, the MobileConnect Station picks up your room audio from up to two different audio sources, for example, handheld microphones, bodypacks or ceiling microphones. Its powerful DSP cores then provide up to two separate mono or stereo streams that can be received by iOS and Android devices anywhere in the room using WiFi. Single MobileConnect Stations can be run and administered in the so-called Standalone Mode using a local web interface. When using multiple Stations, the MobileConnect Manager can be used as the single point of administration for all MobileConnect Stations, making it an extremely scalable system.

As one of the three main components of MobileConnect, the MobileConnect Manager represents the single point of administration for all of your MobileConnect Stations. It is a free software that can be installed on an on-premise server to manage and update MobileConnect Stations remotely. It has a clean user interface and can be used by multiple users, for example if the system administrator needs to grant access to an integrator.
Using the MobileConnect Manager is optional and made for using MobileConnect with multiple (5+) MobileConnect Stations. If not required, MobileConnect can also be operated in the so-called Standalone Mode, where single MobileConnect Stations can be run and administered using a local web interface.

As one of the three main components of MobileConnect, the MobileConnect App works as the receiver for all of your MobileConnect audio streams. Its clean and appealing design makes it easy to use for everyone and thanks to the screen reader support for both iOS and Android it can also be used by visually impaired and blind people. As people have different hearing preferences and needs, we have implemented the so-called Personal Hearing Assistant, which allows for adjusting the sound and also enhances speech intelligibility.
As many Bluetooth devices still introduce additional audio delay, we recommend using wired hearing devices or connecting an induction neck loop to the phone.
The app is free of charge and does not contain any advertisement and Sennheiser take the data privacy of users and customers very seriously. This starts by protecting access to streaming channels by QR and PIN code and ends by limiting data tracking to an absolute minimum.
