Kickstarting 2025 with a bang!

Welcoming the New Year with a fireworks display is pretty routine, but the Lord Mayor of London’s Firework extravaganza is on a whole other level, and we were delighted to be involved in ensuring it all went without a hitch - read on to find out more. Plus it’s been a bumper January with training, new releases and planning for upcoming exhibitions all keeping us on our toes.

Lighting up London

Without question, this is the biggest UK fireworks gig of the year. The Lord Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve (NYE) Firework Display is one of the most iconic events in the global calendar, watched by millions of people. As part of this spectacular show, lighting design plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual experience, enhancing the fireworks, and bringing the entire event to life.

The lighting for this event requires cutting-edge technology, flawless execution, and a robust wireless infrastructure to ensure the systems work seamlessly. AC-ET was proud to be involved in providing the essential wireless components for the lighting infrastructure, working with some of the industry’s top professionals.

Versatile lighting for unforgettable events

Pixel 8 Productions required versatile lighting to light up two knock-out events in two iconic venues - boxing from Ashton Promotions at the National Ice Centre and Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, and Revolution Pro Wrestling at York Hall.

Both events demanded broadcast-quality visuals, and the PROLIGHTS EclPar IPMFC fixtures delivered flawlessly.

St Paul’s Cathedral shines with PROLIGHTS

Blue Thunder Sound provided full production for a recent London Film Music Orchestra concert at St Paul's Cathedral in London, using over 200 lighting fixtures, including 102 PROLIGHTS Smart Bat units.

Sold out Luminex training

Two Luminex training sessions were held in January, in High Wycombe on 16th-17th January and in Leeds on 21st-22nd.

Focusing on networking for lighting and video, the two day course covered network fundamentals, best practices, network switches, DMX processing, nodes and splitters.
